## Overview:

Monthly Tracked Companies (MTCs) are the organizations actively engaging with your open source project. This includes downloads of your packages, views of your documentation, and any other type of interaction with your software. Scarf identifies and surfaces these organizations so you can better understand your audience and prioritize outreach.

Each unique organization that engages with your project within a month counts as one MTC.

### Why add more MTCs?

As your project grows, so does its adoption by companies. More downloads, more documentation views, and more activity across your project—all of which means more opportunities to uncover who’s using your project and how.

Adding more MTCs to your Scarf account means more insights into your project’s adoption, clearer signals for your sales and marketing teams to act on, and more opportunities to connect with the companies that matter most.

With just a few clicks, you can scale your Scarf account to track up to 250 MTCs on your own—no need to contact sales.

## What you’ll need:

- A Scarf account ([sign up for free](https://app.scarf.sh/register)). You can sign up with a valid email address or your GitHub account.
- Admin access to your Scarf account.
- A valid payment method.

## Step 1: Go to Settings

Log in to your Scarf account.

In the top navigation, click on your profile icon and select Settings from the dropdown menu.
