Scarf's mission is to support open-source software developers and the companies that rely on their work. We provide tools for open-source projects to better understand their software's usage and connect them to their commercial users. Scarf is hiring a Head of Sales to work directly with the CEO on Scarf's early sales & go-to-market. Initially joining to help build and execute on the early existing pipeline, you’ll also be tapped to build a team as Scarf’s customer base grows.

In this role, you will:

  • Own an account list and develop plans for acquiring business with high growth companies and organizations building various kinds of open-source software
  • Develop outbound strategies and processes
  • Own the full sales cycle from lead to close for organizations maintaining open-source projects
  • Lead  team projects to develop and refine our sales process
  • Engage with engineering and leadership teams to help drive product roadmap

We're looking for someone who has:

  • 5+ years experience in enterprise B2B sales
  • An interest in technology and software
  • A love of working in a dynamic and fast-paced start-up environment
  • Proven ability to lead negotiations involving commercial software and service agreements
  • Strong presentation skills, particularly for remote meetings with multiple stakeholders
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills
  • An ability to turn customer feedback into product strategy recommendations

Working with us means autonomy and flexibility. We like to have some overlap in our work hours as a team, but otherwise your schedule is up to you. Due to our distributed nature, we have a strong focus on clear communication. As part of our team, your written communication skills (largely chat-based) will be crucial, though we tend to jump on video calls regularly too. We strive to foster open and concise communication that is direct yet always empathetic.
